What happens in a lesson?

I'll help you to explore your habits and reactions through simple activities such as sitting, standing and walking. During part of the lesson, you'll lie on a table and I'll help you to bring about a better distribution of muscle tension. Through gentle manual and verbal cues, you'll begin to perceive the ways in which you may be interfering with your balance and coordination. Together we can help you discover a more easeful way of thinking and moving. A typical lesson lasts about 45 minutes.

What am I learning?

By taking lessons and practicing what you learn, you gradually develop skill in using yourself with more poise and efficiency even without the aid of a teacher. By plugging in the Alexander thought process you can create your own 'new and improved' keyboard user, public speaker, yogi, weekend hiker...you name it. You also become increasingly able to apply your new skill to more complex activities such as playing a musical instrument with less strain and more power, grace and expression.
